Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Nexus.
Yes. Nexus is an open system. It is important that your Energy Management System does not paint you into a corner and limit your options as to what you can achieve with your data and control. Fusion is architected as an open platform through data services with extendibility in mind. NexRev leverages common data protocols and standards — such as MQTT — that allow you to move data from the Fusion devices to your own infrastructure, as needed.
The monthly fee covers connectivity costs, security upgrades, software management and device configuration, innovation/feature updates, and warranty.
Yes. NexRev has led the industry with integration into machines, devices, and appliances and has a comprehensive library of profiles today. Additionally, NexRev continues to integrate with new products that come onto the market making NexRev Fusion devices current with the evolving technology landscape.
No, customers can’t use their own mobile plan with Nexus. Nexrev provides cellular connectivity through an MVNO that automatically selects the best available network. This ensures reliable coverage and optimized data rates without any setup required on your end.
Yes, Nexus has a mobile app available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. It provides real-time system visibility, alerts, and remote control features. Your team can manage building systems from anywhere, right from their phone.

Nexus uses an MVNO to automatically connect to the strongest available network across carriers. This allows for reliable coverage even in remote or low-signal areas.
An MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) is a service that uses major carriers’ networks (like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) without owning the physical towers. It lets Nexus tap into multiple carriers and automatically switch to the one with the best signal. This gives broader coverage and often better rates than relying on a single carrier.
